Marine Engineering Students Shine at CSL-METI Seminar 2025

Ms. Devayani S.N and Ms. Nirajara Rao, students of the Department of Marine Engineering, presented a paper titled “Gender Equality – Women Empowerment: Opportunities and Challenges in Shipping” at the CSL-METI Seminar 2025 on Emerging Trends in Marine Engineering, held on 15th May 2025 at Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), Kochi. Their paper was well-received for its relevance, originality, and analytical depth, earning them the Second Place among several distinguished participants. They were also awarded a cash prize of ₹10,000 as a mark of recognition. This achievement is a result of their hard work and the consistent motivation and support provided by the faculty members of the Marine Engineering Department. Dr. Lokesh V., Head of the Department, appreciated the commendable efforts of the students in addressing a significant and timely issue in the maritime sector. Their remarkable achievement was met with heartfelt congratulations and best wishes from fellow students, faculty members, Principal Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, and the Management of Srinivas Institute of Technology, in recognition of the pride they brought to the institution.
