Overview

The Department of Chemistry is one of the Departments started in 2006. It has well-established laboratories equipped with sophisticated instruments, which fulfill the needs of UG and Ph.D. students. Now, the Department is offering Ph.D in Chemistry. Based on the facilities available, the Department had been recognized as a Ph.D. research center by Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi

Department Aim

To develop an interest in and enthusiasm for Chemistry and to impart sufficient quantitative/qualitative analytical and synthetic chemical knowledge and skills to engineering students to be able to analyze and solve real-world problems.

Chemical analysis of water for different parameters like Chloride, Sulphate, Hardness, Metal ions, pH, Alkalinity, etc.

Analysis of industrial sewage for COD,BOD, pH, sulphates, hardness, dissolved oxygen, etc.

Analysis of seawater for Na+, K+, Cl–, Mg++ ions etc.

Viscosity measurement.

Reagents for Complexometry & Spectrophotometric analysis.
