Report on Patent search and intellectual property rights

A hands-on session on Patent search and intellectual property rights (IPR) was held for fourth-year students in the Department of Marine Engineering at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru on 19th December 2022. The session, organized by the IPR cell and IIC in association with the Marine engineering department, was led by Professors Chandra Jogi and Vivek V Kumar of the department of Marine Engineering. The students were informed about the importance of IPR and the rules surrounding it, and then completed a hands-on search for prior art on their own projects using Google Patents and the Indian patent search.
