Report on COTERIE-2023

An event “COTERIE” was organized from 2’nd to 3’rd February 2023 in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School, Valachil. The school authority organized this ceremony. It was an event held to beautify the school. Architecture students from Srinivas School of Architecture, under the guidance of Ar. Shravya Hegde and Dr. Janardhan Havanje, were given the opportunity to paint the school walls. The main motive behind the event was to make school a better place for the children and give a chance for our students to interact with the neighboring community.The day began with a morning assembly after which the architecture students received a hearty welcome from both the staffs and the students of the school. The kids were quite excited and looked forward for the rest of the day. Students began their painting from 10am and continued till 4.30pm. The snacks and lunch were provided by the school. The students were able to come with a variety of colorful ideas to decorate the walls which left everyone awed. Different walls contained different themes and stories behind it. A few were meant for educational purposes whereas the others were meant for entertainment. The kids were given the chance to paint and to learn quite a few things from the architecture students. They actively participated throughout the day. The immense enthusiasm and the zeal in the kids to learn was the main driving factor. Art works were well appreciated by the government officials, staff, community and most importantly the children of the school.
