Srinivas Institute of Technology Hosts 4th International Conference on Recent Innovations in Computer Science (ICRICS-2025) Valachil, Mangaluru – May 13, 2025: The Department of Computer Science and Allied Branches at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, successfully organized the 4th two days International Conference on Recent Innovations in Computer Science (ICRICS-2025) on Tuesday, May 13th. The event commenced with a prayer song by students of SIT, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, by dignitaries symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance through knowledge. The conference was formally inaugurated at 10:00 a.m. Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal of SIT, presided over the function, and the Chief Guest for the event was Dr. Shyam Lal, Associate Professor, Department of ECE, NITK, Surathkal. The event was convened by Dr. Sandeep Bhat, with Prof. Arvind Naik serving as Co-Convener. This year’s conference witnessed overwhelming academic enthusiasm, receiving over 162 research paper submissions from scholars and practitioners across various institutions. Following this, a Book of Abstracts comprising the highlights of all submitted papers was formally released by the Chief Guest, Dr. Shyam Lal. Dr. Shyam Lal chief guest of the function emphasized the need for interdisciplinary knowledge and the importance of translating academic projects into real-world solutions for public use. He inspired students to focus not only on building projects but also on deploying them effectively. He encouraged them to cultivate new skills and highlighted that even small, consistent changes in their daily routines could lead to significant long-term impacts. Echoing the sentiments of the Chief Guest, Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, in his presidential address, congratulated the organizing team for their successful efforts. He stressed the significance of upskilling in the evolving AI-driven world and underlined the necessity for students to embrace interdisciplinary learning for holistic development. Prof. Daya Naik, Head of the Department of AI & ML, delivered the welcome address, and Prof. Sudarshan, Head of the Department of ISE, proposed the vote of thanks. The inauguration ceremony was smoothly conducted by the Masters of Ceremony, Prof. Spoorthi and Prof. Sowmya. Following the inauguration, Dr. Shyam Lal delivered the first keynote address. The second keynote was presented by Dr. Raghavendra U, Associate Professor, MIT Manipal. Both speakers were honored with a token of appreciation and mementos for their invaluable contributions. The event concluded with a group photograph featuring the faculty and students of the Computer Science and Allied Branches, marking a memorable and impactful day in the academic calendar of the institution.
