Engineered Horizons: The Tech-Motion Ideathon 2025
The Department of Mechanical Engineering, jointly with the Departments of Marine, Aeronautical, and Automobile Engineering, organized an Ideathon for 4th and 6th semester students from April 21st to 23rd, 2025. The event aimed to provide a platform for students to showcase their innovative ideas and project work through visually engaging posters. It also encouraged teamwork, creativity, and effective communication of technical concepts. To commemorate World Creativity and Innovation Day, the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) successfully organized "Engineered Horizons: The Tech-Motion Ideathon"—a platform for students to explore their creative potential and present innovative solutions to real-world problems. The event brought together bright minds from various engineering disciplines, united by a shared passion for technology and transformation. The Ideathon aimed to spark imaginative thinking, foster collaboration, and encourage a problem-solving mindset among participants. Students formed teams and were presented with theme-based challenges related to sustainable technology, smart mobility, automation, and digital innovation. They had a limited time to brainstorm, validate, and pitch their ideas before a panel of judges comprising faculty members and industry experts. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and showcased a wide range of concepts, from energy-efficient systems and app-based automation solutions to innovative mobility aids. Each team’s presentation was evaluated on creativity, feasibility, impact, and clarity. The Ideathon concluded with the announcement of the top three winning teams, who received certificates and accolades. Special mentions were also given to ideas with high potential for further development. Overall, the Ideathon was a resounding success, instilling confidence and a spirit of innovation among students. It emphasized the importance of creativity in engineering and its potential to address global challenges. Events like these align with the IIC’s mission to nurture innovation and entrepreneurship in academic institutions.
