Crafting Impactful Research Papers: FDP by IS&E and AI-DS

On July 25 2025 the Department of Information Science and Engineering IS and E and the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science AI DS in association with the Institution Innovation Council IIC at Srinivas Institute of Technology Mangaluru organized an enriching workshop titled Crafting Impactful Research Papers Mastering the Art of Writing Research Articles in Highly Indexed Journals This Faculty Development Program FDP was designed to enhance the academic writing and research publication skills of faculty members researchers and PhD scholars It aimed to provide practical insights and tools for publishing in high impact indexed journals while promoting ethical research practices and scholarly excellence The session featured Dr Sandeep Bhat Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at SIT as the resource person One of the key features of the workshop was the focus on real time research challenges and journal selection strategies Dr Bhat also addressed frequently asked questions about publishing timelines peer review processes and best practices for increasing citation metrics and visibility The workshop concluded with an enthusiastic QA session where participants clarified doubts and interacted directly with the resource person Attendees left with a clearer understanding of research publication frameworks and a renewed motivation to pursue high quality research This impactful workshop not only provided technical know how but also inspired participants to think more critically and ethically about academic publishing It marked a significant step in SITs mission to promote research excellence and academic growth among its faculty and scholars By equipping participants with the tools and confidence to publish in reputed journals the event reinforced the institution’s commitment to fostering a research driven academic environment The success of this session was made possible by the unwavering support and encouragement of Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D Principal of Srinivas Institute of Technology His vision for fostering innovation and entrepreneurial thinking among students greatly contributed to the effectiveness of the program The session also benefited from the active involvement and leadership of Prof Sudarshan K Head of the IS and E Department and Prof Nagaraja Hebbar N Head of the AI DS Department who provided invaluable guidance throughout the event’s planning and execution The event was meticulously coordinated by Prof Sowmya Staff Advisor of AISE and Event Coordinator for IIC
