Be Care and Cure – Fixathon

On August 7 2025 under the Institute’s Innovation Cell the Association of Information Science and Engineering AISE and the Association of Computer Science and Design Engineering ACODE the Department of ISE and CSD organized a contest named Be Care and Cure Fixathon The contest comprised two exciting rounds In the first round participants were given pre written Python code by the organizing team Their task was to identify and fix bugs in the code This round provided a valuable hands on experience in debugging and understanding code structure skills that are vital in solving real world software problems The second round took a creative twist Organizers provided participants with a set of numbers each corresponding to an alphabet e g A 1 B 2 Z 26 Participants had to decode the numbers into letters rearrange them and form meaningful words This round tested logical thinking pattern recognition and mental agility Students from various departments participated enthusiastically making the contest a highly engaging and intellectually stimulating event It helped students enhance their technical problem solving abilities and develop quick thinking strategies The event was supported by Prof Sudarshan K Head of the Department HOD ISE and CSD It was skilfully conducted by Prathibha Nisha Bagal Nishmitha and Rakshitha k from the 5th semester ISE and CSD The event was coordinated by Ms Aparna N under the guidance of Prof Sowmya Staff Advisor of AISE and Prof Archana Staff Advisor of ACODE Their teamwork and dedication ensured the smooth execution of the contest Be Care and Cure Fixathon was a well rounded contest that combined the technical rigour of coding with the fun and challenge of puzzles It effectively nurtured real time problem solving debugging and critical thinking skills in participants Future editions could include team based rounds or code puzzle hybrid challenges to further elevate the learning experience
