The Department of Mechanical Engineering of Srinivas Institute of Technology Mangalore under the banner of All Students Mechanical Association ASMA in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council IIC EDP Cell III Cell and the Incubation and Start up Cell organized a technical talk on Sustainable Business Models for Budding Entrepreneurs on 12th August 2025 Professor Sathya Prakash A Assistant Professor in the Department of Marine Engineering Project Manager of SAMARTH and Co founder of Siyo Liquid Detergent was the resource person The event was presided over by Dr Shankar K S Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department In his presidential address he guided the students on participating in technical events and urged them to make the most of the opportunities available The keynote speaker Professor Sathya Prakash A an expert in sustainable enterprise development emphasized that future ready businesses must balance profit making with environmental stewardship and social impact The talk covered critical themes such as circular economy principles renewable resource utilization ethical supply chains and the long term scalability of sustainable ventures Based on his personal experience he shared his struggles and explained how he was able to reach the competitive market with his product He also advised participants to make use of eco friendly sources while purchasing raw materials and offered practical ideas for reducing waste Interactive discussions allowed participants to present innovative ideas and seek expert advice on real world challenges faced during startup establishment The event concluded with a call to action encouraging young entrepreneurs to innovate with a conscience and adopt strategies that ensure profitability while contributing positively to society and the planet The technical talk left the attendees motivated equipped with actionable insights and inspired to shape a greener more responsible entrepreneurial future Dr Raghavendra M J IA IIC Prof Sandesh K S Faculty Coordinator of ASMA and other faculty members were present during the session The event was successfully conducted under the guidance of Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D Principal and Dr Praveen Shenoy IIC Coordinator Srinivas Institute of Technology Mangalore
