The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), through its technical club TECHBOTS-SIT, conducted a session on “Innovation and Ideation” for the first-year students of ECE and EEE streams of the academic year 2026–27 on 11th September 2026. The session was organized to introduce students to the vision, activities, and technical initiatives of TECHBOTS-SIT and to motivate them to develop an interest in practical learning, innovation, and project-based activities from the beginning of their engineering education.

The session provided an overview of the various technical domains explored by the club, including robotics, embedded systems, electronics, microcontrollers, sensors, automation, IoT, programming, and emerging technologies. Students were introduced to the projects, workshops, competitions, and hands-on activities undertaken by club members. The importance of converting innovative ideas into practical solutions was emphasized through a systematic approach involving identification of real-world problems, generation of ideas, selection of suitable technologies, prototype development, testing, and improvement.

The session also highlighted the importance of teamwork, creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, and technical communication in successful project development. Students were encouraged to share their ideas, work in teams, utilize their individual skills, and actively participate in the upcoming activities of TECHBOTS-SIT. They were motivated to observe problems in their surroundings and develop innovative and cost-effective technological solutions.

Overall, the two-hour session was informative and interactive, creating awareness about the opportunities available through TECHBOTS-SIT and motivating students to explore new technologies and develop practical projects. The session helped students understand the importance of learning beyond classroom theory and encouraged them to take their first steps towards innovation and project development. The session concluded with the motivating message “Let’s Build Ideas”, encouraging students to transform their ideas into useful solutions through knowledge, creativity, experimentation, and teamwork.
