On 11/9/2026, department of CSBS in association with R&D Cell Srinivas Institute of Technology organized one day event of R&D Awareness and Innovation Exposure Programme for Polytechnic students and faculty members with the objective of creating awareness about Research and Development, innovation, technical projects, emerging technologies, and practical problem-solving. The programme was designed beyond a routine institutional visit, focusing specifically on developing an R&D-oriented mindset among students and faculty. The technical club leads and members, led by Vaishak and team, interacted with the participants and shared insights into technical club activities, student projects, hands-on learning, ideation, prototyping, experimentation, and the importance of transforming classroom knowledge into practical and innovative solutions. The interaction encouraged students to actively participate in technical activities and explore opportunities in research, innovation, and project development. As an additional component of the programme, Green Flav LLP (incubated at host institute) participated in the innovation-awareness initiative. The team interacted with the students and faculty and highlighted the connection between innovation, real-world problem identification, technology development, and entrepreneurship. The overall programme provided valuable exposure to the participants on how technical knowledge can be converted into innovative ideas and practical solutions through systematic experimentation and collaborative efforts. The initiative successfully promoted awareness of R&D and innovation among the Polytechnic community and motivated students and faculty to pursue research-oriented learning, technical projects, innovation activities, and technology-enabled problem solving. Event was successfully organized with the valuable guidance of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya.D, Principal, SIT, Mangalore. Event was organized more effectively under the supervision of Prof.Shailesh Shetty S, Head of the CSBS Dept and Dr. Lokesh K S Coordinator of R&D Cell and this event was successfully coordinated with the help of Event Co-ordinator Prof.Goutham Shetty, Assistant professor, Dept of CSBS, SIT, Mangalore.
