The Department of Marine Engineering, in association with AIMES at Srinivas Institute of Technology, celebrated Engineers’ Day on 15 September 2026 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sir M. Visvesvaraya.

Commodore S. R. Dhareshwar, IN (Retd.) was the Chief Guest for the programme. Dr. Lokesh V., HOD, Marine Engineering, spoke about the life, achievements and contributions of Sir M. Visvesvaraya. The Chief Guest addressed the students on the importance of engineers in society and highlighted the qualities required to become a good engineer, including technical competence, discipline, responsibility, problem-solving ability and professional ethics.

The programme was successfully organized by AIMES, Department of Marine Engineering. Mr. Satyaprasad served as the Master of Ceremonies, Ms. Srishti delivered the welcome address, and Ms. Maulya proposed the vote of thanks. Prof. Vivek V. Kumar, Coordinator, AIMES, coordinated the programme.
