Startup Strategy and Business Model Alignment
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, organized a session on “Startup Strategy and Business Model Alignment on 26 May 2026. The program was jointly organized under the initiatives of Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP), and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), highlighting the institution’s commitment to fostering innovation and practical learning among students.
A total of 54 students from the 4th semester ECE participated as attendees. Dr Lokesh K S, Associate Professor, Department of CSBS was the resource person for the event. The session focused on the fundamental aspects of building and scaling startups through effective strategic planning and business model alignment. Students were introduced to key entrepreneurial concepts, including value proposition development, customer segmentation, revenue generation mechanisms, market validation, and sustainable business growth strategies. The speaker emphasized the importance of aligning a startup's vision, resources, and operational activities with its business objectives to achieve long-term success.
Real-world Startup examples and case studies were discussed to provide practical insights into the challenges and opportunities encountered by entrepreneurs. The interactive session encouraged students to explore innovative ideas, understand Startup ecosystems, and appreciate the role of strategic decision-making in transforming ideas into viable business ventures.
The program concluded with a question-and-answer session, where students actively engaged with the speaker and clarified their queries related to entrepreneurship, Startup development, and business model design. The session proved to be informative and motivating, inspiring students to consider entrepreneurship as a potential career path and to develop an innovative mindset for future endeavours.
