International conference on Recent Innovations in Computer Science (ICRICS 2026)
The fifth international conference on Recent Innovations in Computer Science (ICRICS 2026) successfully concluded at the Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangalore, following a productive two-day academic exchange on May 11th and 12th. Organized by Conference Convenor Dr. Vinayaka V. Rao (HOD, Dept. of AI & Data Science) and Co-convenor Prof. Sudharshan K (Associate Professor & HOD of ISE and CSD), the event featured over 120 research presentations categorized into four major technical tracks: AI and Computer Vision, Data Analytics and Security, Embedded Systems and IoT, and Renewable Energy & Sustainability. The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Harivinod (HOD of AI/ML & CSBS at St. Joseph Engineering College), while a distinguished panel of judges from SUIET— including Dr. Praveen, Prof. Anand U, Prof. Gowrav P, and Dr. Naveen—oversaw the rigorous evaluation of 15 internal and 1 external research sub-groups. The valedictory program highlighted the academic diversity of the event, with keynote sessions focusing on cutting-edge trends like AI-driven industrial learning and prompt engineering. A major highlight was the distribution of Best Paper Awards, which recognized innovative research in fields such as deep learning for agricultural disease detection, IoT-based waste management, and mental health analysis. During his presidential address, Principal Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D. congratulated the winners and urged researchers to develop projects that create tangible societal benefits. The event, which significantly boosted the technical confidence of over 100 internal students and 14 external researchers, officially closed with a vote of thanks from Professor Ganapathi Sharma, acknowledging the collective efforts of the organizing committees and student volunteers.
