The inaugural function of the two-day International Conference on Recent Trends in Applied Science (ICRTAS–2026) was successfully conducted on 07 May 2026 at 9:30 AM in the Seminar Hall of Srinivas Institute of Technology. The conference was jointly organized by the Departments of Physics and Chemistry in hybrid mode with active participation from academicians, researchers, faculty members, and students.

The programme commenced with a prayer song presented by the students, creating a pleasant and respectful atmosphere for the event. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Gopalakrishna Bhat N, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, guests, participants, and attendees.

The inaugural ceremony included the traditional lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. Dr. B. S. Dayananda introduced the chief guest of the programme, Dr. B. Ramachandra Bhat. In the chief guest address, Dr. B. Ramachandra Bhat spoke about the importance of bond making and bond breaking not only in Chemistry but also in human life and relationships. The speech inspired the audience by connecting scientific concepts with life values and experiences.

The programme was graced by the presence of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D along with faculty members and invited guests. The event was smoothly compered by Prof. Amitha H.

The inaugural session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Suryanarayana K, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, organizers, participants, and students for contributing to the success of the conference.
