The Association of Automobile and Aeronautical Engineering (AMARA), in association with the Alumni Cell of Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, organized an Alumni Interaction Session titled “Preparing for Core Industry Careers: Alumni Expert Session” for the students. The session featured a distinguished alumnus, Mr. Abhijit Kumar, National Technical Leader (Senior Officer) at Toyota Kirloskar Motors, Bengaluru, and was held on 23rd March 2026.

During his interaction with the students, he shared valuable insights on building a successful career in the automotive industry. He emphasized that securing a job in a reputed company requires strong technical knowledge, continuous learning, and the ability to utilize opportunities effectively. He advised students to focus on gaining practical knowledge alongside theoretical learning and to actively participate in engineering activities. He also highlighted the importance of staying curious, learning concepts beyond the syllabus, and developing strong problem-solving skills.

Mr. Abhijit Kumar further guided students to maintain realistic expectations during the initial stages of their careers and to focus on learning and gaining experience. He encouraged students not to judge opportunities based on job titles, but to understand the nature of work and the associated learning potential. He shared his personal experience of how involvement in activities such as building SAE vehicles during his academic years helped him develop practical skills, teamwork, and industry exposure, which played a crucial role in securing his position at Toyota Kirloskar Motors. The session was highly inspiring and informative, motivating students to enhance their technical competencies, engage in hands-on projects, and prepare effectively for their future careers.

The event was coordinated by Mr. Prakash T, Staff Coordinator, along with Prof. Sathyaprakash A, Alumni Coordinator. The guidance and support of Dr. Praveen Shenoy (HOD-AE), Dr. Sandesh Kumar Rai (HOD-AU), and Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D (Principal) contributed to the successful organization of the program.
