On February 23, 2026, the Department of Information Science and Engineering (ISE) and the Department of Computer Science and Design (CSD), Srinivas Institute of Technology organized a Hands-on Session on React Installation and Development Setup for the students of 6th semester ISE and CSD.

The session was conducted by Mr. Nishan, 6th Semester ISE student, with the objective of helping students understand the basic setup and installation process required to start developing applications using React. The session aimed to provide practical exposure to students and assist them in preparing their development environment for modern web application development.

During the session, the resource person demonstrated the step-by-step process of installing the required tools and frameworks necessary for React development. Students were guided through installing Node.js, setting up the development environment, creating a React project, and understanding the basic structure of a React application. The session also introduced students to essential concepts such as components, project folders, and running applications using development servers.

The hands-on approach enabled students to actively follow the steps and configure the React environment on their own systems. The session helped students gain clarity on the initial setup process and encouraged them to explore frontend development using modern JavaScript frameworks.

The program received support from Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, and Prof. Sudarshan K, Head of the Department, ISE and CSD, whose encouragement contributed to the smooth conduct of the session. The event was successfully coordinated by Prof. Aparna N and Prof. Sahana B, with support from Prof. Sowmya, ISE Staff Advisor, and Prof. Archana D, CSD Staff Advisor.

Overall, the session proved to be highly useful and informative for the students, helping them gain practical knowledge on React installation and development setup while motivating them to explore modern web development technologies.
