Engineering Success: Reinventing Yourself Beyond Classroom
On March 02, 2026, under the Institute Innovation Cell (IIC), Alumini Cell, the Department of Information Science and Engineering (ISE) and the Department of Computer Science and Design (CSD), Srinivas Institute of Technology organized an alumni talk titled โEngineering Success: Reinventing Yourself Beyond Classroom.โ
The session was delivered by Mr. Abhilash M S, Alumni, for the students of the ISE and CSD departments. The talk aimed to guide students on how they can shape their careers by going beyond academic learning and developing the skills required to succeed in the professional world.
Mr. Abhilash M S shared his personal journey from being a student to becoming a professional in the software industry. He spoke about the importance of continuously upgrading technical knowledge, building practical skills, and staying updated with emerging technologies. He encouraged students to make effective use of opportunities such as internships, projects, coding practice, and industry exposure to strengthen their career prospects.
During the session, he also emphasized the importance of soft skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability. He advised students to develop a growth mindset, remain curious, and be open to learning new technologies and ideas. The speaker motivated students to step out of their comfort zones and actively participate in technical activities, competitions, and innovation-driven initiatives.
The interactive session allowed students to ask questions related to career preparation, skill development, and industry expectations. The discussion helped students gain clarity about the transition from academic life to the professional environment and the importance of self-development in achieving long-term career success.
The program received strong support from Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, and Prof. Sudarshan K, Head of the Department, ISE and CSD, whose guidance ensured the smooth conduct of the event. The program was successfully coordinated by Ms. Aparna N, Staff Coordinator, and Prof. Sowmya, ISE Staff Advisor, and Prof. Archana D, CSD Staff Advisor.
