The Department of MCA, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, organized "EXCEL 5.0", a One Day National Level IT Fest for UG students, on 20th February 2026. Themed "Reaching Heights...", the event marked the beginning of a celebration of technical excellence, innovation, and intellectual creativity. EXCEL 5.0 aimed to provide a dynamic platform for tech enthusiasts to showcase their skills, compete, learn, and network with like-minded individuals. The fest represented an extraordinary fusion of innovation and artistry, setting a positive and inspiring tone for the technical deliberations and competitions that followed.

Open to all BCA and BSC students, the fest featured a wide array of exciting events including coding challenges, tech talks, gaming competitions, and cultural performances. Participants engaged in rigorous competitions such as "Strange Syntax" for coding, "Design Dock" for web design, and "Stranger Bytes" for IT quizzing. The fest also tested problem-solving and management skills through "The Hawkins Lab" IT Manager event and "The Hawkins Heist" treasure hunt. Furthermore, the event embraced creative and cultural dimensions with "Rofi Reel" for videography, "Upside Down" for gaming, and "Strange Rhythms" for group dance.

The successful execution of this grand event was guided by the Chief Convener, Dr. Suresha D (President), and Convener, Dr. Shashidhar Kini K (HOD). Coordinated meticulously by Staff Coordinator Mr. Rajesh Naik and Student Coordinator Ms. Likhitha, the fest symbolized our department's earnest commitment to holistic student development. Ultimately, EXCEL 5.0 proved to be a resounding success, offering a vibrant environment where technology truly met creativity.
