The program “Effective Sales and Marketing Strategies for Startups” was conducted by entrepreneur Prof. Sathya Prakash A, Co Founder, Siyo Liquid Detergent for first-year students with the aim of building early awareness about entrepreneurship and business fundamentals. The session focused on helping students understand how innovative ideas can be transformed into successful startups through effective sales and marketing practices.

The resource person explained the basic difference between sales and marketing, highlighting that marketing creates awareness and interest, while sales converts potential customers into actual buyers. Emphasis was placed on identifying the target audience, understanding customer needs, and developing a clear value proposition. The speaker discussed affordable and practical marketing strategies suitable for startups, such as digital marketing, social media promotion, word-of-mouth marketing, and personal branding.

Real-life examples were shared to help students understand how startups attract customers with limited resources. The importance of communication skills, customer feedback, and relationship-building in sales was also emphasized. The session encouraged students to think creatively, work in teams, and adopt an entrepreneurial mindset from an early stage. Overall, the program provided valuable insights into startup growth strategies and inspired students to explore entrepreneurship as a potential career path.

The success of this session was made possible due to the continuous support and encouragement of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal of Srinivas Institute of Technology, whose vision promotes a culture of innovation and lifelong learning. Dr. Praveen Shenoy, IIC Coordinator, played a significant role in conducting the event under Institution’s Innovation Council. The event was organized by the guidence of Dr.Gopalkrishna Bhat, HOD, Department of Chemistry, and First Year Coordinator.
