Career Readiness and Industry Expectations

The Association of Automobile and Aeronautical Engineering (AMARA) in association with the Alumni Cell of Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, organized an Alumni Interaction Session on “Career Readiness and Industry Expectations” for the students with two distinguished alumni, Mr. Vignesh G and Mr. Prithvi Acharya, to provide guidance on career development and industry expectations.” on 19th February 2026.

Mr. Vignesh G, presently working as a Team Leader at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Bengaluru, addressed the students on how to effectively face interviews in companies. He explained the types of technical and HR questions commonly asked during interviews and emphasized the importance of having strong fundamentals, clarity in concepts, and confidence while answering questions. He also guided students on how to structure their responses logically, maintain positive body language, and improve communication skills. He encouraged students to practice mock interviews and prepare thoroughly in their core subjects to enhance their employability.

Mr. Prithvi Acharya, currently working as an Electrical Systems Engineer at Recaro Aircraft Seating, Germany, shared his professional journey and experience in the aircraft seating design and research and development sector. He is responsible for the electrical design of business class aircraft seats. Prior to this, he worked for six years at Safran Engineering Services, Bengaluru, where he was involved in the design and R&D of aircraft first class, business class, and economy class seats. He highlighted the importance of acquiring additional skills beyond the academic syllabus and stressed the need for continuous learning to meet global industry standards.

He advised students to develop strong technical competencies and gain proficiency in industry-relevant software such as CATIA, while also preparing specifically for company-oriented interviews through internships, projects, and practical exposure. Both speakers encouraged students to continuously upgrade their skills, strengthen core knowledge, and prepare systematically for career opportunities at national and international levels. The session was highly informative and interactive, offering valuable insights into industry expectations, interview strategies, and professional growth, and the department expressed sincere gratitude to the alumni for inspiring the students toward excellence.

The event was coordinated by Mr. Prakash T, Staff Coordinator, along with Prof. Sathyaprakash A, Alumni Coordinator. The guidance and support of Dr. Praveen Shenoy (HOD-AE), Dr. Sandesh Kumar Rai (HOD-AU), and Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D (Principal) ensured the success of the program.
