On February 18, 2024, a Vedic ceremonial event took place, by the holy hand of the esteemed 𝐃𝐫. 𝐂𝐀 𝐀. 𝐑𝐚𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐨, ji Hon'ble Chancellor of Srinivasa University and President of A. Shama Rao Foundation Mangalore, accompanied by 𝐀. 𝐕𝐢𝐣𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐢 𝐑. 𝐑𝐚𝐨, Trustee of the Governing Council, Srinivasa University, and 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐬𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐨, Hon'ble Pro-Chancellor of Srinivasa University, Vice-President of A. Shama Rao Foundation Mangalore, and 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐒𝐦𝐭. 𝐀. 𝐌𝐢𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐒. 𝐑𝐚𝐨, Trustee of the Governing Council of Srinivas University. and their esteemed family members. Commencing at 9:00 AM on Adityavara, Sunday. The day began with prayers and the warm reception of guests, emphasizing the values of camaraderie and hospitality. The ambiance was imbued with a sense of sanctity and spiritual devotion as participants engaged in various rituals aimed at invoking blessings and auspiciousness. One of the central rituals performed was the Punyahavachana, a purification ceremony using Panchagavya, a mixture prepared from five products derived from the cow, symbolizing purity and vitality. This was followed by the PanchagavyaAmbakorcha Homa, a sacred fire ritual conducted to offer oblations with clarified butter (ghee) and other sacred substances, seeking divine blessings and protection. The atmosphere was adorned with decorative arches and traditional motifs as participants partook in the Kankana Bandhana, a ritual where sacred threads are tied around the wrists, signifying protection and commitment to the spiritual path. Additionally, the auspicious moments of Ugrana Muhurta and Ankur Arpana, conducted at 5:00 PM, marked the initiation of new beginnings and the nurturing of growth and prosperity. As the day progressed, the focus shifted towards the Saptashuddhi, Sudhakalasha, and Prasada Shuddhi rituals, which involved the purification of offerings and sanctifying the surroundings. The Prakara Bali ritual was conducted to appease deities residing in the precincts, fostering harmony and auspiciousness. The culmination of the event witnessed the performance of Vashtu Raksha Homa, a homa dedicated to the deity of architecture and vastu shastra, seeking blessings for the well-being and prosperity of the household. This was followed by the Vashtu Pooja, a ceremony venerating the divine forces governing the architecture and layout of the premises, ensuring harmony and balance in the living space. The day concluded with the Ankur Puja, a ritual symbolizing the worship of new life and vitality, fostering optimism and abundance in the days to come. Participants left with a sense of spiritual fulfillment and renewed vigor, having immersed themselves in the age-old traditions and rituals aimed at invoking blessings and auspiciousness.
